Overview
Pop Corn! was a 2D Cuphead inspired beat 'em up where you play as "Kernel Corn" to get to the end of the stage. My role was to code the game's mechanics, enemy AI, and UI. My core system that I followed for development was shaping the experience into a cohesive blend of fighting strategy and satisfying combos.

Pop Corn! is designed for:
•Fans of Beat 'em Ups
•Fans of Rubberhose-style animation
•Players who enjoy co-op adventuring
•Players who enjoy arcade styled games
The experience comes from using combos and from a variety of different moves.
Systems Design
Key systems currently in development include:
• Melee combat built around combo synergy
• Trial encounters with decision branches for enemy AI
• Suspicion dynamics that influence how players interpret each battle scenario
• Ability kits designed for both co-op and single player experiences
• Encounter pacing that increases positive tension across a session
Each system is prototyped, tested and iterated as development continues.
